One Day (Day #1)
Today was a great day!
I feel very accomplished by what I did. The goals I set, I felt, helped set boundaries that I felt good about! I kept my phone usage to a minimum, and became more aware of my usage in general. I realized that I am more productive while not being on my phone (duh, but like for real!). I felt better about myself, and more accomplished. I held back from using my phone until the afternoon, after I had accomplished a set list of tasks. I continue to have bad thoughts about my looks, my weight, self-confidence/self-concept. I know that if I take it one day at a time, one foot in front of the other, hammer away daily, I’ll get somewhere. I just have to try. Put in effort. One foot in front of the other. Give myself a chance to change and improve.
No phone after 10pm [productivity, mental health]
I checked my phone after 10pm tonight a few times, but I just came back home from a BBQ at a friend’s apartment, so I wasn’t paying close attention to the time. This goal came about as last night, I became frustrated and simply turned off the Internet on my phone at 9:59pm, and so I thought it was a good way to set boundaries.
1 blog post a day [daily review]
Writing it now!
Midnight bedtime [sleep hygiene]
Washing up & going to sleep shortly (it’s 11:51pm)
8am wake-up [productivity]
I was up around 8am today, but I didn’t get out of bed until about 8:30am.
1 exercise video/day [self-love]
I did a nice vinyasa 40min flow video.
Daily Chitas [spiritual refinement and connection]
I felt very accomplished that I completed this early in the day. I loved starting my day earlier and with some good G-dly inspiration.
Eating mindfully & meditatively for nourishment [mind/body/soul connection]
Now, this was the difficult part. I had a yummy smoothie for breakfast. Later on, I made sourdough toast with Zaatar. Later in the evening, I made a salad and had some hamburgers, hot dogs, buns, and cookies. I believe I ate mindfully, but perhaps not as meditatively as I could to help myself understand being satisfied vs. stuffed.
I also rode my bike around Prospect Park this afternoon and took a nap in the grass. It was hot & sunny today - absolutely perfect weather! Aside from the fact that I just went camping, perhaps it’s redundant to get back into nature, but sticking my feet in the soft green grass was certainly nourishing.
I also spent time completing the Coursera course that I started several weeks ago. I learned that I’m very unhappy. I’d like to continue working through the course, and perhaps completing another course alongside in HTML/CSS. I would also like to spend a bit of time on LinkedIn to improve my profile and connections.
Goals for tomorrow 6/9/20:
